The story behind the East Lake name, where it came from and what it represents to us and what it means to you.
Charles Eastlake was an author, who in the 19th century wrote articles on household taste and style. Eastlake has influenced our design as much or more than any other architect or writer. This was not so much from the standpoint of heavy Victorian design as to the reasoning behind structures that should show and exude strong foundations to all the various parts and pieces of a house and therefore giving a sense of security. Others that have influenced our design are Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles and Henry Greene, The homes of Lennox and Salem Massachusetts, the homes of Charleston South Carolina, the mountain style found through out Colorado, and to a large degree the philosophy portrayed in the Pattern Language written by various architects and authors on house and community patterns of living. Much of our philosophy on home design and structures was conceived from these and others.
They taught that a home should be designed and built with lasting style. Too often this fact is ignored and the end result can be a home that in time is outdated. This does nothing to maintain the value of your home as it should.
